Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark

Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark, aka Fattening Crack. This stuff is SO good and it’s impossible not to over indulge in it. I found the original recipe on mamasaywhat.com but modified it to my preference and needs, and based on my experience with what worked best.

Ingredients:

Pretzels (any kind but I prefer Bachman mini pretzel twists; pretzel sticks shown in photo)
2 sticks salted butter
1 cup of light brown sugar
2 bags (yes bags… go big or go home) of Hershey’s milk chocolate chips
Salt (preferably sea salt but table salt will do)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350.

Line a cookie sheet or large jelly roll pan with parchment paper.

Cover pan with a single layer of pretzels.

In a medium saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar until sugar is dissolved. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thick.

Remove from heat and pour evenly over the top of the pretzels.

Place in oven for 5 minutes.

Remove from oven and sprinkle both bags of chocolate chips over the top.

Place back in oven for one minute.

Remove from oven and spread chocolate chips with a spatula.

Sprinkle with salt.

Let cool for 10 minutes.

Cover with parchment paper and put in freezer for 2 to 3 hours.

Remove from freezer and break apart with your hands.

You can store in or out of the refrigerator.
